A strong mix of country with fiddle, accordion,
and great harmonies.
This is the latest CD from the legendary Doo-Wah Riders. Although there are fiddle
and accordion on practically every track, this album is a slight departure from their
trademark cajun-flavored country.
The band has never been afraid to experiment, grow, and evolve. “Sometimes
songs have a life of their own, “ says accordion player Kenny Lee Benson. “When
we're in the studio, it’s important to keep an open mind and let the music take you
to where it naturally wants to go. In this case, we are thrilled with the results.”
Coming out of Los Angeles and traveling all over the country, The Doo-Wah Riders
have been riding their own patch of the musical range throughout the west. They
possess the rare combination of many years of experience and youthful energy,
fired by a love for what they do. The Doo-Wahs are country, with a unique, original
sound. They define their sound as "high energy country with a cajun twist". Their
tight musicianship and powerful arrangements of classic, contemporary, and
original songs have made them favorites everywhere they go.
Modern Country with big, full harmonies.

This is the 4th release of the Doo-Wah Riders and one of their best. Once again,
produced by Gary Morse, this cd combines the best qualities of the Doo-Wahs:
great harmonies, upbeat cajun/zydeco-flavored country, and great original
material. The band wrote nine out the ten songs on "Big Small World."

This is the first release by the Doo-Wah Riders. The cd includes some fan favorites
that the band still plays in their shows, including Big, Big Love, Saw You Running,
Let's Just Say Goodnight, and Wild Roses.
Also included is, "Glowing In The Ashes", the song that the Doo-Wahs performed in
the movie "Basic Instinct".
Legendary fiddler Byron Berline was a member of the band during this time, so be
assured that you'll be treated to some great fiddle playing!

Anybody who opens up their show with a medley of "The Lone Ranger Theme,"
"Ghost Riders in the Sky," "Rawhide" and "Bonanza" has got to be all right.
Live! also includes a Cajun medley, comprised of "Down at the Twist and Shout,"
"Diggy Diggy Lo," "Jambalaya" and "Big Mamou."
Produced by Dwight Yoakam steel guitarist Gary Morse (who also guests
throughout), the album contains traditional songs ("Whoopee Ti Yi Yo"), cover
tunes (Hank Williams' "Honky Tonk Blues" and Van Morrison's "Brown Eyed Girl")
and original compositions.
